Combining architectural elements & landscapes
with the human spirit—how we are affected by our environments & the power they have to change us.

People react to the sensations around them—the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and the textures. When I find myself in a new place, there are unique sensations guiding me to learn my surroundings. As time passes, the environment becomes less distant and foreign. The detailed snapshots of the architecture, landscapes, and people, form the shapes and patterns that connect it all together. It is in it’s warmth that I am invited further beyond the surface level. The ease that accompanies the familiarity of surroundings opens the mind, creating space for deeper connection and understanding.

Over the past couple years, I have been exploring the medium of hand-sewing between my travels. It is here that I have landed, transported back in my mind to Paris in 2015, my first trip after moving to London. The hand-sewn lines puncture through the surface, bind to the core, and intricately weave through the paper. Displaying a soft texture, each individual stitch works together to make something larger than itself. Imitating the feelings and sensations that comes from understanding the details of a place, bringing forth an openness of the soul.
