Group Exhibition: Unity, hosted by PoptArt Gallery

This past weekend, on a very rainy Sunday afternoon, I participated in the group pop-up exhibition, Unity. The show was hosted by PoptArt Gallery in the London neighborhood of Brixton, Upstairs at the Ritzy. It was lovely to have my work shown alongside a group of talented artist including Kristina Barrick, Carla Harding, Samantha Lewis, Emily Long, Rita Millat, Jeanne Roche, and Matthew Rompa. Together we brought in our flow of family and friends to enjoy some time chatting about our art as we networked.

For this exhibit, I decided it was time to show the work I have been creating most recently, the Movement series. The small ink paintings are layered with hand embroidered marks that mimic the actions and flow of nature. Each one has its own unique details of lines and circles. Their miniature nature forces viewers to take a closer look and be pulled in by the flow of the lines; to get lost in them and in reflection.

It was my first time doing a pop-up style show like this and it was fun to see how it all came together. I am happy to have taken this step to get my work out there and begin sharing in more in all different kinds of settings. We shall see what else the future has in store for my art…
