When you are reading this, I will have just landed back in London after a visit back to my lovely New England. September is now here—and autumn is now close! It has already begun to feel crisp in the air and I've admittedly been wearing a few sweaters already. While I am sad for summer to come to a close, there's a good energy that comes with the beginning of autumn—or really any season. It is change, it is newness, it is a fresh start.

Over the past month, I have been doing a lot of sketching and thinking about where I want to take my art. One of my biggest fears is that I will lose the meaning and heart behead the work I am creating. If those two things are gone, I don't feel like it is worth creating. Luckily, I haven't reached that point ever and when I feel close or that things are going a bit too stagnant, it's time to pause, step back, re-evaluate, and get back to the core. August was a month that I did just that and I am happy to say that by the end of it, I felt like I really got over a large hurdle. My artwork is heading in a direction that feels very aligned with my soul and what I want my work to represent—connection and balance.

I'm hopeful September will continue me on this path. It feels good.

As for the rest of the month, I will be traveling some though my travel season is mostly coming to a close. There's a trip to Nice, France for one last taste of summer as well as a weekend away in Rye. While I love to travel, it will be nice to be around London more, get into a routine, and push more art out into the world. And speaking of, I have a show coming up that I will be sure to share more details on soon. Mark your calendars for September 22nd though!

Happy September, friends!

I'm slightly sad that it is already August—summer is flying by! It has been a good one full of inspiration from my travels. I have a lot of ideas to work through and sketches to make from it all. With all this said, August is one of my favorite months. There is something calm about it to me. Rico and I will also be celebrating 4 years of marriage and his birthday which always makes this time of year feel a little extra special. And, more traveling to come! Soon I will be heading to Stockholm and later in the month, I'm off to the States to spend time with our loved ones. It will be a busy one but full of quality time and love.

Now let's get to the news around here...

The shop is now officially open! As I have mentioned, it felt time to leave Etsy and move my work onto my website. That time is finally here and I am happy to welcome you all to have a look (here)! You will find my most recent work for sale and soon, I will transfer some of my older pieces into the shop as well.

Other exciting news is that I will be a part of a Pop-up show next month, Saturday, Sept 22nd (mark your calendars) in London down in Brixton. More details to come! I am looking forward to joining the PoptArt Gallery family on this one, meeting new faces, and hopefully seeing some familiar ones!

Okay, that is all from me!

Hope everyone has a lovely start to their August! Enjoy this last full summer month :)

This year feels a bit like trying to hold sand in your hands. In other words, it's going by so quickly! I am happy that we are officially into the summer months—the best time of the year in my opinion. Having the sun out and trips to look forward to brings new energy into my work. Which brings me to the piece for this month's wallpaper. It is part of my Changing Sun series, inspired by how the changing seasons can bring change among us. I love the simplicity in these ones.

I have been spending most of my time continuing on toward by journey to being an artist full time. I reached the tipping point where the majority of my day is taken up by art and it is feeling really good. Just recently I finished my first large scale hand stitched piece and sent it off to the framers (I'm anxious to see how it comes out). It's a special one that I am keeping for myself but I see more of these works coming! It was fun to push the size limit and see how the stitching reacted. Also, it took a lot more arm muscle than I expected. Flipping a large piece of paper carefully back and forth is a lot tougher than one would think! Next up is a commissioned piece for a hotel in Austin, TX that I am excited to get to work on.

Outside of my artwork, it been a busy travel season. In early June I spent some time back in the States in New Orleans (officiating my best friend's wedding!) and as you read this, I'll be on the final day of a trip to Italy—The Dolomites and Lake Como. There's more travels to come for the month ahead and one that I have been looking forward to all year—going back to Croatia—but this time, with my family! I can't wait.

I hope the month of July brings you all lots of sun and positivity!

June creeped in out of nowhere! I can't believe it will be the official start of summer in just a few weeks. I have been waiting for this—my favorite time of year! While London doesn't always promise full sunshine and warm temperatures, I am looking froward to the ease of life that comes with these coming months. They seem to be instant mood boosters...perhaps maybe I just belong in a warmer climate!

Last month I took a few trips—Porto, Snowdonia, and Tallinn. All were amazing for their own cultures, inspiration, and vibes. I have to say that Snowdonia was my favorite out of those—which feels a bit shocking since it is the closest. It was just unbelievable to get out in nature, go hiking, and unwind. It has already inspired a few new pieces! The travel doesn't stop there though. This month I am heading to New Orleans and then later to Italy (the Dolomites and Lake Como). Lots more to look forward to!

I have been continueing to dive deeper into the path of the artist of the past month as well. It has been feeling really good! As with any transition, there's been some bumps along the way. It is not an easy route but even with the tough times, I know that it is 100% what I want to be doing. There's no better feeling than that! I am looking forward to finishing the transition from freelance design work to full time artist over the coming months. So close!

Hope everyone has a lovely June!

We are in full spring mode...though you wouldn't be able to tell from London's weather. Earlier this month, we lucked out with a beautiful week of high temperatures then it went back to a winter feel around here with cold rain. The glimpses have me hopeful and as I am writing this, the sun has made an appearance once again—let's hope it sticks around!

It has been a month of navigation for me. I recently had put a pause on creating new work. Not because I didn’t want to—far from it! Life was feeling a bit out of control, not on the path I wanted it to be, and I was working on too many things I wasn’t passionate about. It had me in the ultimate slump. These are the moments I like to embrace and learn from though. It is easy to stay stuck in them and forget the bigger picture. I got a huge wake up call and reminder that our time here is too precious to be doing anything but what we love. While I know that isn’t always practical, I'm finding myself unable fight it any longer. I don’t want to look back and wish I had took the leap to chase my dream. For me, this season of life is going to be about readjusting and aligning myself on the path I have truly always wanted to me on—art. It’s nerve-racking and exciting. I need go through what this means and how to move forward on my own right now but I promise that there will be more to share about this and the changes as I work through them. Thank you for continuing to always stick by me in these defining years of life. I think I've finally found my sweet spot and I'm ready to enjoy what it brings!

Outside of this revelation, I have been back traveling a lot with my husband. These trips are what have been sparking me to rethink and realign. There are plenty more adventures ahead—Porto, Snowdonia, and Italy are up next this month! I look forward to where those guide me next.

Have a wonderful May and a happy Spring! The warm sunny weather is working its way in and summer will be here before we know it.

Happy April! Winter seemed to have dragged on this year—everyone agrees with me on that right? I got to experience real London snow for the first time in our three years of living here though. While it was magical, I am ready for spring to be in full force—for the trees to be green again and the beautiful flowers to pop up around the city. We can't be far away from that now! I'm admittedly currently in Morocco though so I am experiencing nice warm weather already. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the sun to be around more in London after we return. I'll try to bring it with me!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and is kicking off this new month with happy spring thoughts!

March is here which means spring is that much closer. I have been enjoying the snow here in London this past week though. In my three years of living here, I have never seen so much! It makes me feel like we are back in New England. I keep saying that this would be the perfect goodbye to winter—so, hopefully, once the snow passes we can start warming up and watch the nature around us come back to life for a new season.

Another reason I am excited for this new month is that we are getting back into a fuller travel schedule around here. We have two trips this month—one brings us back to Alpbach for a final ski of the season and the other brings us to Morocco. Very opposite trips but I can not wait for either! At the start of each travel season, I love knowing that I have no idea what new inspirations will be coming my way as I see new places and continue to grow.

I hope you all have had a lovely couple of months of your new year and wish you the best for March!

Sitting down and writing this while in complete disbelief that it's already February...the start of the new year has flown by. Sometimes when I look out the window and see the grey gloomy London skies, it feels like winter has been going on forever though. I have been focusing on some winter hobbies to make these months seem less dreary. At the end of last year, Rico and I were getting in a good groove with ice skating. This year, we pushed ourselves a little further and went skiing for the first time! We were bracing ourselves to hate it since it takes some time to pick up but we absolutely fell in love. So much so that we have already booked a trip back for March. I truly can not wait!

In January I also got back to focusing on my artwork after breaking for the holidays. My current series has me exploring a few different mediums—acrylic on canvas, ink on paper, and hand stitching. Right now they feel a bit separate in their practices—though they feel joined by intention, story, and color palette. The hope is that as this exploration continues, they will start to intertwine. I am already feeling that pull and have been sketching out lots of images that my brain seems to be swirling around.

For the month ahead, I am looking forward to continuing on with our downtime to re-establish routine and gear up for the spring when lots of traveling will be happening. We have our year mapped out already on where we are hopping to go! With new destinations, comes new inspiration. You never know where life will lead you and what change those places will bring. On that note, I leave you with good vibes for February! May it be relaxing, reviving, and settling as we all prepare for spring.

Happy New Year! By this time I will have just landed back in London (that's right, I rang in the New Year attempting to sleep sitting up next to strangers...how glamorous...ha). Luckily Rico and I will be treating ourselves to a nice breakfast at one of our favorite local spots, Greenberry Cafe, to celebrate being back! Then I will probably crash and try to pretend that the jet lag isn't making my eyes want to roll back into my head.

This month we're hanging around London for the most part but we've decided to book a little ski weekend in the Austrian Alps. I've skied a few times, Rico has never, so it should be interesting! We are buying some gear, getting ready, booking our rentals and ski lessons, and are anxious to enjoy some time in nature learning a new skill! Over the past few months, we have reminded ourselves that it is never too late to learn something new. That we have to always push ourselves to be our best. One important task for me was to find ways to make the winter more enjoyable. These colder and shorter days can be a battle for me. Some ideas that instantly came to mind where skating and skiing. I grew up skating and absolutely love to do it but never prioritize it—now that I put my foot down, we've been twice this year with plans to go more once we are back...and continue maybe even through the warmer months. It's naturally progressed now to inspire us to go skiing and I can't wait to see how it goes!

Now that you've gotten a little life update from this side, let's chat about wallpaper! Another new year means a new wallpaper series! This time around I have decided to use my artwork (rather than design work) as inspiration and to keep things closer to my current creative journey. I have enjoyed creating graphics by hands in the past to bring you all unique and fun wallpapers that hopefully brighten your months but since I'm not spending my days designing anymore, it felt right to rethink what the wallpapers should and can be. The only conclusion that felt right is to bring it closer to my roots so I can share more of that with you. January's design is taken from one of my recent ink paintings. My artwork lately is based around the concept of how the reflection of nature's movements and visuals can teach us about our natural human emotions. You can read deeper into that here. My hope is that these paintings I am creating, can draw out a sense of peace and clarity in it's viewers. As wallpaper, this moon & mountains painting can be a daily reminder for that grounded stability from the earth.

May you enjoy and have a wonderful start of the new year!

So, the end of the year is here. 2017 was a defining year for me and I have a lot to reflect back on before I say goodbye to it. This final month will be a time for just that. Then to truly close the year off, we will head back to the States for some family time before kicking off the new year in the air on our way home to London. I'm excited for this year to be over because I have a really good feeling about 2018. I never want to wish time away and I wont be doing that, but I'm feeling good and positive about whats ahead.

I hope everyone has a lovely month celebrating the holidays and a new season! Enjoy this wonderful, cozy, and festive time of year :)

November is here and we are long into autumn now. I have been doing a lot of watercoloring painting with this new season and seeing where that path takes me. It is such a wonderful medium to work in so I am excited to be exploring it more. I am hoping to get back into some larger acrylic paintings or mixed mediums but I'm learning to pace myself. My inner artist has been full of inspirations still from our travels this past year but I am already aching to get back out there for more. We don't have any trips planned through the end of the year though. We have been putting a focus back on doing day trips here in England so we can see more of this beautiful country before the day comes that we have to leave it.

For the month ahead I hope to stay on this track. We have family coming to visit for Thanksgiving which has become a new tradition. It does seem a bit backwards since Thanksgiving is an American holiday but the pub near us does a nice dinner for it. It's nice to not to feel like we miss out on holidays with our families when we get visits like these.

Wishing everyone a happy November!

When this post goes live, I will have just landed back in London after a visit to the States. I am really looking forward to seeing my family and getting to soak in New England for a little. The toughest parts of being away are missing those two thing—but London does a good job of distracting me! Months seem to by flying by and I can not believe that summer is over. It is always a bit painful to say goodbye to such a beautiful and full season but autumn has its ways. Soon the leaves will be turning and walking through Regent's Park will look a little different with the bright yellow hues all around us. I love lighting candles this time of year and getting cozy in the evenings with a good movie or book. Each season gives us a new reason to feel excited, restored, and inspired. I'm excited to see what autumn has to offer!

Sending all my love as usual! Happy October & Autumn, friends :)

Hello & welcome to the new journal on my studio website! From this point forward you will find my wallpapers posted here alongside any other art/design focused topics. Sea of Atlas, where you used to snag these from, has been converted into a travel only blog which I hope will still be enjoyed by many! Speaking of travel...we're kicking off the month with a trip to Portugal. I am really excited to be in warm sunny weather and by the beach. It will be a last burst of summer before autumn starts to truly show its face. We are also traveling back to the States later in the month to visit family and friends. It feels like it has been FOREVER since we have been home. It will be a nice time to refresh, reconnect, and enjoy our beloved New England. It feels crazy that these trips are already here along with September but I am very much so welcoming this month in! I wish you all the happiest of months and hope you are getting out to do some of your own end of summer exploring.

Wallpaper: August 2017 Calendar & Pattern

August has always signaled that the end of summer is coming near for me. It feels like we hit that mark a few weeks ago here in London though with the cool autumn like weather we have been having. I keep telling Rico that summer is over but we are trying to hold out hope that things will turn around here. Besides focusing on the weather, I've been enjoying our time back in London with a more low key schedule. June and the first half of July were definitely crazy. I thought we had learned our lesson when we did the same thing last year but we couldn't help packing our schedules full with travel itineraries. It's such a wonderful time to travel in Europe. You still miss a lot of the crowds but get some great weather. We will continue to stay put until the end of August when we take a little weekend trip to Ireland. We'll get our last taste of summer in September with a trip to Portugal as well as the States (we're hoping autumn arrives a little late!).

Enjoy the sun and all that comes with it while it last folks! Wishing you all the best for August.

Wallpaper: July 2017 Calendar & Pattern

I'm in complete shock that I am writing about July today. June surely flew by! Does anyone else feel this way? Our travel season has been in full swing so I'm a bit all over the place when it comes to dates. We took full advantage of June by starting the month in Switzerland and making our way to Italy and Norway. July will be kicked off in similar fashion—we aren't slowing down just yet! Tomorrow we board a plane to Bosnia where we will hang out for a little before making our way to Croatia (for our third time...we might love it!). After this trip, we'll be hanging out in London until closer to the end of summer. I'm looking forward to the second half of July being about down time and getting back into the groove here. With all my traveling, I've had plenty of time to reflect and think about whats important to me. Seeing new places always unlocks new parts of who I am and helps bring new ideas in. I have some changing and shifting I plan to tackle (and share) soon. For now, I'm just focused on getting to that warm sunshine and spending some time in the ocean.

Happy July my friends! Hope its a good one for you :)

Wallpaper: June 2017 Calendar & Pattern

Helloooo June—okay, I know I'm a day early! But here's the first month of summer coming right up. I also just want to casually say that it's my birthday month and by default my favorite month of the year. There's always been so much excitement in June with the new (best) season upon us! I can NOT wait for summer to get here but in the meantime, we will be doing lots of traveling to get ourselves out in nature or soak up the warm weather. June's schedule looks absolutely crazy. We start the month off already in Switzerland (hello from the alps!), head to Venice shortly after, then we are off to Norway. In between our own travels, we have a few visitors from the States coming our way—one being my sister! Her visit coincidentally lines up with my birthday so it will be nice to be around family that day.

Before we know it, I will be back here writing about how June flew by and I can't believe July is starring back at me. Time flies during this time of year and honestly, all I want to be doing is swimming which isn't so easy in London. If I am honest, during the downtime in the summer I tend to get a bit homesick. I'm so nostalgic for the classic New England summer with long days by the ocean, trips to the lake, hiking in the white mountains, hanging by my parent's pool, BBQs, ice cream...ahhhh. It is probably the number one thing I miss from home and a driving force to return someday. For now, I have to make sure I remind myself to live in the moment and enjoy the British Summertime. London is at its best this time of year and since we moved so close to a park this past autumn, we are excited to have a boost to our summer lifestyle this time around. It has already proven to be top notch!

Wishing everyone a wonderful June and a warm sunny start to the summer!

Wallpaper: May 2017 Calendar & Pattern

Over the past month we have been busy getting into the swing of our travel season. With trips to YorkBudapest, and Prague, it has been a good one so far! Life is really picking up pace as the warmer weather surrounds us with its loving arms. Everything seems to have a new found strength pushed into it with obstacles that speak to my word for this year—grit. While I've been continuously challenging myself outside of my comfort zone in different ways, May is starring me back right in the eyes ready to see if I can take it on. I tend to run my business solely online—with coffee meets up when possible of course! But this month I'm stepping outside and will be teaching hand lettering at the Creating for Good Conference as well as setting up a stall in the Primrose Hill Festival for my artwork. I've been working away at prepping for these events and ready to learn some new lessons about the business. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll also have a better understanding of who I am as a creative and overall person after these as well. I'm looking forward to see what new energy these will bring my way!

It's going to be a busy month but in all the best ways possible. From the working these events, plugging through client branding projects, building up the online shop with items like handmade fonts, and exploring my new role as an artist—there's a lot of things going on. In between it all we will continue on with our travel season with a short trip back to Paris and a week long adventure through the Swiss Alps.

Through it all we wish you all nothing but the best for this month ahead! Hopefully the warm and beautiful weather continues to give us all the good vibes we need to enjoy Spring!

Wallpaper: April 2017 Calendar & Pattern

Friends—it's spring, it's spring, it's spring! Can I say that 500 more times? I'm so happy to see the weather getting warmer, the skies more blue and sunny, and the days getting longer. It is making my heart so darn happy! London has been looking good these past couple of weeks. I love when all the trees are in bloom making the streets full of beautiful color and vibrancy. We have lots in store for us this season and right into summer as well. We'll be stepping more into the swing of things traveling to York, Budapest, and Prague this month. I almost had trouble containing my excitement enough to type that. This time of year makes me feel so alive. I love getting away from it all to experience new cultures and adventures. It's amazing to be able to take in so much inspiration and I'm excited to see what comes of it all through some new artwork.

We are also getting closer to the Primrose Hill Festival on the 21st of May where I'll be hanging out selling some of my illustrations and paper goods. I truly hope to see some friendly faces there and meet some new ones as well!

Wishing you all the best of April and spring! Here's to breathing new life into what we do with the changing of seasons and the fresh beginnings!

Wallpaper: March 2017 Calendar & Pattern

Coming in with this bright and cheery March desktop wallpaper in hopes that Spring will come sooner rather than later. We have gotten some glimpses of warmer weather here in London lately and it has me aching for that good ol sunshine. I've never been someone to hate the winter—I think it is magical in its own ways—but this winter seems to be extra grey and gloomy. It's especially tough when winter just means months of rain like it does in London. We're holding strong and still getting out when we can to wander around this beautiful city though. It's been a couple months of a more low key life style. Weekends have been spent recharging and gearing up for out travel season that'll be starting oh-so-soon!

We're heading to Riga, Latvia this weekend for one last (hopefully) snowy winter weekend to get our fix. When we return it shouldn't be too long before London is in full Spring mood. I can not wait to have days in the park reading and picnicking. And a recent plan with a friend has me sneaking away to Lisbon later this month to give my summer soul some love. All signs are pointing towards some fresh new beginnings as the plants start to bloom and show their colors.

On another note, I've been selling illustrations and fonts over on The Creative Market this year to make handmade design more assessable to more people. I'll be putting up items like these monthly floral illustrations if anyone wishes to use them in their own projects. I'll have a more detailed post soon about these but I welcome you to hop over and check the shop out!

Wishing you all a happy March!
