Fleur Lyon is a botanical fibre artist located in western Australia. Last year she came to me looking for a logo to help bring to life the core inspiration behind her brand. SO today, I'm so excited to finally reveal it all to you! The overall design had to work for her as an artist and to also later be carried out further to a fresh floral stand in the future. Together we built a brand that spoke to her current work but could be expanded on when the time came. Whether you know where you are trying to grow as a brand or not, it is really important to leave room for things to move around while still holding onto a strong brand. In the entrepreneur world, things tend to constantly be evolving so we want to be able to create to that. It was admirable that Fleur had a plan that she was aiming for and wanted to work that into this project from the start.
Looking at Fleur's work, it was easy to be inspired by the florals she creates through embroidery. The attention to the detailed line work really brings her pieces to life. Pulling from those lines, I hit the sketch book to create some botanical art for her logo. Going down a more illustrative logo path for this one was a move I was certain of. It was wonderful working with Fleur to create a logo that was more on the artistic and unique side of things. The florals and the organic lines in the lettering bring together Fleur's artistic style and brand.
It's always fun working with fellow artist to help portray who they are through a brand. It is key that we are able to tell the story of the artist and the work that is produced so our audiences can know exactly what they're in for when they see it. I huge shout out to Fleur for choosing me to work on her logo with her! It was so enjoyable to bring a real artistic approach to the table with the detailed illustration work.
