A few months back I had an e-mail find its way into my inbox that once opened seemed too good to be true. Briana Moore, a photographer in the States, had reached out to see if we could work together to create a logo. The twist—the logo wasn't for a company, it was for an adventure. If you hang around here, you know how ingrained exploration and travel is in the Sea of Atlas way.
Based on the book Travels With Charley by John Steinbeck, Briana is planning to take a three-month long road trip around the States with her (super cute) dog Quigley. She'll be following Steinbeck's path but adjusting it to her own flow as she makes her way along the open road. As we moved forward with the project to come up with a design suited for such a grand adventure, we began pulling inspiration from vintage maps and books. Briana loves the line detail and formation in the illustration style of these older books. It was clear that was a strong place to pull from and to transform her mark into something that really stood for what she loves—after all you have to have a lot of fire and passion to chase after such a big dream like she is!
It was a pleasure to work with Brian to help bring her wild dream to a reality and create such a unique logo. I'm excited to continue to follow along with her journey in the fall when she starts making her way across the States! It's sure to be one for the books—so don't miss out, follow along through the links below!
